           PRESS RELEASE

APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS

On behalf of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kano State Council and the entire workers, pensioners and their Unions in Kano we wish to express and convey our Congratulations to the Commissioners and members of the Kano State Executive Council recently appointed by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR.

While congratulating them on their well-deserved appointments, we wish to urge them to be worker-friendly and  work assiduously in the best interest of the collective progress and development of Kano State. They should embrace all stakeholders of the Kano project and treat the citizenry fairly for the collective good of all.

On our part, we wish to extend our hands of goodwill and partnership to them especially at the present period for the implementation of the New National Minimum Wage of N30,000 that was already signed into Law by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We are optimistic that they will leave no stone unturned in doing everything humanly possible in justifying the confidence reposed in them by the Governor and people of Kano State including the actualisation of the Minimum Wage.
Specifically, we wish to recognize and commend the proactive steps taken by the new Commissioner of Health Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa whose first point of contact was KCHCMA MAWH, aimed at addressing the lingering issues bedevilling the Scheme for better and improved service delivery to workers.

The Labour remain ready and steadfast in supporting any initiative that will ensure affordable, effective and efficient healthcare services to the workers in particular and the entire good people of Kano State in general.
Finally, as we begin the next level dispensation, we wish to appreciate His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano State     Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the inclusion of youths in his cabinet, hoping that they would live up to expectations.

We pray to Almighty Allah to continue to guide, protect and unite us all in the service of humanity.

Thank you all.
