The Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NSGF) Rt. Hon. (Dr) Simon Bako Lalong has felicitated with the Muslim Umma worldwide on the occasion of the 2019 Eid-el-Fitri Sallah celebration.
In a statement signed by M r. Solomon Gujor, Deputy Director of Press and Public Affairs, to the Governor, made available to The Headline News, Lalong enjoined the Muslim faithful to use the period to offer prayers for peace, unity, prosperity, healing of our land, and rapid development at all levels of governance in the country.
According to the statement, Lalong used the occasion to call on all Muslims to put into practical lessons learnt during the Ramadan period, and to love and share with the less privileged in the society as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
According to Lalong, “When every citizen upholds and practices the teachings from our holy books, peace and tranquility will reign in the society”, he said.
Lalong reiterated the determination of the Rescue Government to bequeath enduring legacies to the next generation in line with the administration’s 5 Policy Trust.
Then governor called on those celebrating to observe the laws of the land, and to especially obey traffic regulations as they move around in the course of the celebration.
The governor equally wishes all Muslims a peaceful Sallah celebration.
