Over 25,000 applicants scramble for 1,500 teaching job in Adamawa State


Following the pronouncement by the Adamawa state Post Primary Schools Management Board Yola to recruit 1,500 teachers, over 2,500 people have indicated their interests for the jobs.

Hon. Julius Kadala, Commissioner for Education in the state disclosed this to newsmen, said the Ministry is not scared with the number of those seeking the appointment saying "only qualified candidates will be absorb in the system".

He said a committee has been constituted to scrutinize the applicants and any candidate who fail to meet the criteria set for the recruitment will be screened out. 
Kadala added that the committee will submit their report after Sallah break, while successful candidates would receive their appointment letters before the beginning of 2018-2019 academic session.

It was gathered that some of the applicants are government employees at both state and local governments.
